North Star Cherry:  Genetic dwarf introduced by the University of Minnesota in 1950. Red fruit with a small stone. The North Star Cherry is a dwarf, self-fertile tart cherry tree. It is highly prized for its cold hardiness and a mature height of 6–10 feet. The fruit ripens in mid-summer (June/July) and is ideal for pies and baking. Very productive. A sour pie cherry. Blooms in early May. Zone 4-8
